This And That

Dublin Ring – Connie Fox

One of my favorite rings made it into the most recent issue of Jewelry Artist (December 2012, p. 42). The ring uses a number of techniques: hollow forms, piercing, use of gold bi-metal, beveling edges, soldering an already set stone, texturing and tube setting. Look for this project on the next class lineup. Also look for one of my new fav acquisitions made by Gil Jemmott to show up soon on the blog.

Ruth, I have a book titled “Signs of Life” on universal shapes and their symbolism. According to the author, the square represents stability, solididty and security. While I didn’t consciously have this in mind when I made the ring, staying stable is certainly a good thing!
